SAMPLE 7 DAY CHARTER ITINERARY
For
St. Martin / St. Barts / Anguilla
St. Martin offers some of the best cuisine you'll find anywhere in the Caribbean. Such towns as Grande Case and Marigot are known for the wide variety of restaurants that cater to the most discriminating palette.
When quality counts, Marigot is the premiere area to shop on this island. You can buy just about anything from the inexpensive t-shirts to a chocolate treat that cost more than precious stones. The air-conditioned shops of Marigot, by the way, are located far from the hordes of milling cruise ship passengers.
The allure of St. Barts is its sharply contoured rocky hills, the picturesque port of Gustavia and her gorgeous beaches. St. Barts has become a world famous chic destination and hot spot for the good looking, well-to-do "in" crowd, seasoned with a sprinkling of acting, singing, and sport stars. Basically it's considered the Riviera of the Caribbean.
Anguilla is another island you'll want to visit while cruising in the area. It is a low island surrounded by spectacular white sand beaches and banks of coral. There is a wonderful sense of peace on this island and its people are outstandingly friendly and honest. Anguilla's population of 7000 inhabitants relies mainly on tourism.
A word of caution; a good portion of the cruising waters in and around St. Martin is in open ocean seas, so for those that don't have their sea legs yet, it would be a wise decision to charter one of the larger yachts to ensure your comfort.
Day 1: Arrive at Anse Marcel's delightful marina on the French side of St. Martin. Come onboard in the afternoon, stroll along the beach, swim, enjoy a cocktail and be welcomed aboard. The skipper will show you the charts and proposed itinerary. Together you can decide the next anchorages. Have dinner on board.
Day 2: After breakfast there's a two hour sail to Anguilla. Anchor for lunch at Dog Island, a little island which shelters with many species of birds. Explore the island, swim etc. Spend the night at Road Town, Anguilla's main anchorage which is well protected for the night.
Day 3: A one hour sail brings you to the Prickly Pear Islands for lunch. A group of "picture perfect" islands, surrounded with turquoise waters, white sand beaches, and coral reefs... This is one of the most beautiful spots in the Caribbean for snorkeling. Spend the day as Robinson Caruso. Spend the night in Crocus Bay.
Day 4: Set sail for Tintamarre, an uninhabited French island. Anchor in front of a picturesque beach, swim and have lunch on board. Then it's off again to Grand Case Bay in St. Martin and a return to civilization! This typical village welcomes you with its colorful wooden houses. Enjoy a wonderful dinner at anyone of the many fabulous seaside restaurants located in Grand Case.
Day 5: A two hour sail brings you to St. Barts. Anchor in Colombier Bay which is calm enough to enjoy kayaking or a little scurf. It's a quick trip to the islands main village, Gustavia, for the night, where you can spend and animated evening ashore
Day 6: Spend the morning shopping and enjoying the village's lovely local architecture. There you'll fine many shops carrying the latest in fashions. After lunch set sail for the wild deserted ile Fourche. Swim and spend the evening on board.
Day 7: After breakfast leave for Marigot on St. Martin. Stop for lunch and do a bit of last minute shopping and disembark.
