LA PALAPA Charter May 17th - 24th, 2014
~ Captain: Roger Hayward - Chef / Hostess: Aimée Hayward ~
Subject: Great charter for two guests in the British Virgin Island aboard LA PALPA.
I apologize we have not gotten back with you yet, but we have been extremely busy with our kids since we got home! Its almost as if the vacation was just a dream...lol. Our trip with LA PALAPA was the trip of a lifetime! Aimee and Roger were fun and met all of our expectations and then some.
We saw the most beautiful islands and the snorkeling was amazing! The food on the boat was the most gourmet food I think we have ever had. All the meals were delicious! We wish we would have chosen to eat all of our meals on the boat because the food on the islands was expensive and not that good.
The boat was beautiful and looked brand new! You can use our testimonial on your website if you would like. We have no complaints, it was a 5 star vacation! We felt like movie stars!

TARSHA Charter October 27, 2013
Subject: Grenadines bareboat cruise aboard the 4700 Leopard Catamaran TARSHA
Tarsha and the trip was GREAT! Just what the doctor ordered.
The yacht is showing her age in a couple of small areas, AC didn't work, outhaul broke, couldn't get the stove to work... but that's about it. Minor stuff in the scheme of things. Everything else worked very smoothly. Accommodations and provisioning were right on and we even stayed at True Blue Bay resort the last night and were very impressed with the rooms there. Horizon staff was very friendly and helpful and prepared us well.
As for itinerary, we took anchor or a ball in the below order.
1. True Blue Bay on the boat
2. Dragon Bay (bioluminescence)
3. Tyrrell Bay
4. Chattam (Breakfast with Tim the King - Blue Beach Bar on the North end of the beach) (great hike to the top for wonderful overlook)
5. Tobago Cays (skipped salt whistle) (lobster from a boat boy)(tons of snorkeling)
6. Tobago Cays (lobster beach barbecue with Romeo)(4 of 5 island visits)
7. Petite St. Vincent (supper nice dinner at the resort)
8. Petite St. Martinique (lunch at a beach bar)
9. True Blue Bay Resort
As for Charter Sailing Unlimited, you did great man. Really appreciate the responsiveness and organization. Second year and counting you have lead us in the right direction. Will keep the recommendations coming your way.
Attached are a couple of photos... post what you will. Maybe next time we can work out a discount for some promo photos:)
Hope all is well!

LADY DOMINIQUE II Charter 3/29/2013
~ Captain: Jacques Yves Gruel - Chef / Hostess: Anna Maria Serra ~
Subject: Grenadines cruise aboard LADY DOMINIQUE II
Thank you for your recommendations of the LADY DOMINIQUE II for our Grenadines sailing cruise. We truly could not have asked for more. The LADY DOMINIQUE II was more than we expected. It was the most spacious sailing accommodations any of us had experienced even though we have been on larger vessels. The king size beds, personal showers and heads ensured everyone was extremely comfortable in the large, well appointed cabins. The rear lounging and top side sunning decks were extremely comfortable for our party of eight. The boat was very easy to move about on, even when we were under full sail.
Our party can't say enough great things about Captain Jacques and Chef/mate Maria. They were the ultimate hosts, caring for our every request. Captain Jacques was always very attentive, anticipating our needs and wants. He was ever mindful of our safety. He was very watchful while we snorkeled and swam and always available to run us ashore to explore a beach or small village. Maria definitely applied her French cooking skills in preparing the most delicious meals with beautiful presentations. Actually, each meal was a feast and the deserts were heavenly.
The cruise started with an overnight anchorage at Tyrell Bay at Carriacou. The next day sailing to Palm Island with its beautiful sand beaches and Union Island’s Clifton Harbour for port of entry to the Grenadines. Union Island is like stepping back into the old Caribbean with its colorful buildings, small shops and markets of local fare. The cruise included visits to Mayreau, Tobago Cays (Petit Rameau, Baradal, Petit Bateau, Petit Tabac and Jamesby) Cannouan and a full sail cruise to Petit St. Vincent. We finished out trip in Grenada with a full day tour of the Spice Island. It was a wonderful trip and was enjoyed by all.
Thank you for your service and excellent communication. This was the third sailing cruise that we have booked through Charter Sailing Unlimited and you have always done an excellent job. Keeping us informed of up to the minute changes was most helpful with ground transportation and timely arrival at the boat.
Best Wishes for your continued success.

ABEL Bareboat Charter June 23, 2012
Statement to Dennis Dori:
I spent several months in the Fall of 2011 researching online the different sailing cats available in the BVI to charter for the week of June 23, 2012. I settled on several boats that suited me but the best one was the Fountaine Pajot, Salina 48’ sailing catamaran.
There were several reasons I wanted this boat but especially because all four of the main cabins have beds at normal height instead of where you step up several steps and enter them from one side only. Most boats I looked at had that configuration. But with two of my crew 75 years old and one 83, I wanted the easier to negotiate standard type bed that you do not have to climb into. Plus the Salina was the right length, 48 feet, so it had lots of room for us. Plus a generator, A/C, a big galley and salon, a cushioned sun deck attached to the dinghy davits which increased the living area in the aft of the boat. I also liked the raised up helm on the Starboard side with a bimini top.
It just looked great. However, I was in trouble, I could not find a Salina 48’ available. There was one I found that was available for like half the week I needed and it was an older model. So online I found Dennis Dori owner of Charter Sailing Unlimited. I had communicated with Dennis earlier regarding mostly crewed sailing catamarans. Within a few days Dennis located our boat, the ABEL through Dream Yacht Charters.
Not only did he find a Salina 48’ but he found likely the newest one in the BVI, a 2011 Evolution edition. This is the deluxe edition, fully loaded.
Dennis walked me through the process of chartering the boat, he made recommendations on everything from where to provision, where to visit, and how to handle insurance. He has sailed extensively in the BVI and knows the area well. He even helped us negotiate the larger dinghy with an 18 HP outboard.
Dennis was always available to answer my questions and help guide me through the process. I am so glad I found Dennis because otherwise I would have had to settle for a lesser boat, no question about it.
I highly recommend using Dennis Dori with Charter Sailing Unlimited for crewed or barboating charters.
Dream Yacht Charters were unable to get our onboard wifi to work so they gave us the password to use their dock wifi while we were there. Since they could not ever get the wifi to work onboard, they agreed to give me a refund of the $280. Also, when our dinghy outboard wouldn’t start, Base Captain, Haniff Yusuf (lead technician for the Dream Boat Charter) came out the following morning to Machineel Bay on Cooper Island with a replacement but was able to get ours running and we didn’t have any more problems with it. He came out first thing before we were done with breakfast so it did not hold us up.
In a nutshell we spent the first night at our dock in Hodges Creek, then our week went like this:
- Alan dove on the RMS Rhone with Sail Caribbean Divers
- To the Indians and snorkel
- To The Bight on Norman Island
- Visit Willi T’s
- To the Caves on Norman Island
- To the Rhone off Salt Island
- Stayed the night on a mooring ball at Machineel Bay on Norman Island
- To the Baths on Virgin Gorda
- Road tour of the island
- Stayed the night at the Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbor in Spanish Town
- To Trellis Bay
- Stayed the night on a mooring ball at Marina Cay
- To Jost Van Dyke
- Visited Foxy’s and then took a open air taxi pick-up over the mountain to the Soggy Dollar
- Stayed the night on a mooring ball in Great Harbour
- Sailed toward St John then through the narrow passage
- Stopped at Watermelon Beach on St John
- Stayed the night at Hodges Creek Marina (Base)
Captaining a sailing ship like the ABEL in a beautiful location like the BVI without a doubt is one of my favorite and most satisfying things I have done. I really felt a sense of accomplishment.

DREAMING ON Charter October 30, 2011
The vacation was absolutely amazing!!! It was such a magical experience and Geoff and Iza are two of the main reasons for that. I can't say enough about the hospitality they offered, their kindness, the comfort, they are the ultimate in hosting this type of trip. To say that they exceeded our expectations is an understatement.
The food was a 15 out of 10, every meal was better than the last. Homemade bread every day!!!! Iza made sure that all of our requests were met when it came to the menu. She was even considerate enough to remember which one of us didn't like eggs and also made the portion sizes perfect for each individual. The four of us all love to eat and enjoy good food and her food was above and beyond. I have requested all of her recipes but I don't think I will be able to replicate her touch when it came to preparing our meals.
The boat was always clean and unfortunately Geoff and Iza spent quite a bit of time picking up after us.... We found the boat to be the perfect size for us, the best part was the front bow with the trampolines. Laying out there when the sails were up and we were crashing into the waves was an experience we will never forget. I should also mention the hammock and being able to drink a mimosa while laying out there in the morning sun was wonderful. The cabins were clean and bathrooms were always clean. The outside dining table was the only place we ate, the fact that it was shaded and out of the sun was perfect and the seating was so comfortable. Oh, and I would be re-missed if I didn't mention the table settings that she had. Please see the attached pictures, one of which is our Halloween table. Like I said, the thought, the time, the effort that was put into our vacation is unmatched.
Geoff was a wonderful captain. Our itinerary was perfect and it allowed us to see what we wanted, the only flaw was that we didn't have more time to continue our journey. We can't wait to book our next trip with Geoff and Iza and see some of the other islands we weren't able to squeeze in this trip. I have traveled all over the world and between the four of us on this trip we have covered most of the world. This was by far the best vacation I have had. I have a villa booked in St. John for a week in January and we are trying to figure out a way to cancel and stay with Geoff and Iza instead. If we can't cancel then we will be with them for at least two nights and go to the full moon party.
I think this summarizes our experience and provides with the feedback you are looking for. If you are looking for more detail please let me know. Bottom line, Geoff and Iza are the best of the best! The trip wouldn't have been half as wonderful if we had a different crew. There hasn't been a day so far that we haven't said "I miss Geoff and Iza".

WINDFALL Charter June 1, 2009
We only just arrived home but can tell you that the cruise on WINDFALL was great. Raffi and Lisa were perfect hosts and Raffi has become hooked on playing 500, which is a card game played with partners where you have to bid for the number of tricks you think you can get in a nominated suit. Raffi was the perfect host and Lisa was a great chef. I would recommend this trip to anyone because Raffi will give you choices about what you want to do and when you want to do it and if Captain Bligh had been as easy going as Raffi we would not have had a mutiny on the Bounty.
Thanks for your help as well.
CRYSTAL CLEAR Charter May 21, 2008
I wanted to take a moment to let you know how pleased Marcela and I are with the honeymoon charter we took aboard the yacht CRYSTAL CLEAR. The only thing that would have improved the experience would have been a longer charter. We were not ready to leave at the end of our five nights. We had a 'perfect' time.
The vessel is absolutely gorgeous. It is meticulously maintained with the utmost pride and discipline by Captain and Mate. It was a pleasure to be aboard her. Charly and Carolina are great crew and hosts. The mechanics of great cooking and guest services can all be learned (and we had both in abundance on the trip), but the art of genuine and sincere Hospitality can only come from the heart. Kudos to Charly and Carolina for their passion and truly loving what they do.
As I told you on the phone, I feel that Marcela and I left CRYSTAL CLEAR with new life long friends and we hope to do another charter with them soon. And thanks to you the whole process was effortless. Thanks for recommending CRYSTAL CLEAR and for doing a great job, Dennis!

TIPUTA Charter July 14, 2008
Our family was so very impressed with our week aboard the TIPUTA in June. We were met at the airport by our Captain, Jean-Marc. He took us under his wing, and took excellent care of us for the remainder of our trip. I might mention that our cousin, William Lee, is a disabled Navy veteran and has much difficulty walking. When Jean-Marc parked at the airport with the view of assisting our cousin, he was given a parking ticket because he did not have a handicapped license. In the interest of fairness, I hope Jean-Marc is relieved (or at least reimbursed) for this parking ticket - he should not have to be penalized for helping a disabled person.
Upon arrival at the marina, we were taken on-board the TIPUTA - our home away from home for a full week - we were thrilled! The boat is so spacious and beautiful, and everything was “ship-shape” and sparkling. Emanuelle, the crew member, welcomed us on board and both she and Jean-Marc made us feel welcome. They both understood the special reasons for our trip and helped us to plan an itinary that would accomodate our plans.
Breakfasts, lunches, and dinners were looked forward to with great anticipation - Emanuelle is creative and an excellent chef. She prepared wonderful meals, serving a variety of special treats. We were constantly amazed at the meals that she was able to prepare in the boat galley.
By the end of our trip, we wanted to bring Jean-Marc and Emanuelle back home with us! They were excellent hosts in every aspect and we look forward to sailing with them again in the future. To sum up, everything was professional and first class all the way. The TIPUTA, with Jean-Marc at the helm and Emanuelle as the crew, are highly recommended. Please pass on our comments and appreciation to the boat owners.
